John R. Beran

John Beran is the retired Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Comerica Incorporated, where he was also a member of Comerica's Management Policy Committee as well as the Comerica Bank Board of Directors. (Retired February, 2011)

He has over 37 years of experience in the field of information systems management, marketing and electronic banking. He joined Comerica in April, 1995, after serving as President and Chief Executive Office of Money Access Service. He previously served jointly as Senior Vice President of Society Corporation's Electronic Payment Services Group and as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Green Machine Network Corporation. John also served as Executive Vice President of BancSystems Association prior to its sale to EDS in 1989.
Among his professional affiliations, Beran is a member of the University of Dayton School of Engineering Advisory Council, the BAI Board of Directors and Real Estate One Board of Directors. He previously served as a member of The Clearing House Payments Company Board of Directors, the Banking Industry Technology Secretariat Executive Committee, Unisys Financial Services Board of Advisors, the Financial Services Roundtable, MasterCard's Maestro Board of Directors, a Director of VISA's Plus System ATM network, the WTVS Channel 56 (PBS) Board of Directors, the Birmingham Education Foundation Board of Trustees and the Michigan Virtual University Board of Directors.
He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and a Master's Degree in Management Science from the University of Dayton.
